A new live recording of "Forever Love" by YOSHIKI and world-renowned vocalist Josh Groban—who boasts over 35 million album sales worldwide—will be released globally on streaming services on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 0:00.
Originally written and composed by YOSHIKI and released as an X JAPAN song in 1996, "Forever Love" is one of Japan's most iconic ballads. Depicting deep love, loss, and feelings that live on beyond time, it has been beloved across generations for 30 years.
For this version, YOSHIKI reconstructed "Forever Love" into a grand arrangement for piano, orchestra, and vocal performance. The collaboration came to fruition on July 17, 2026, when Josh Groban appeared as a special guest at YOSHIKI's concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles—the second night of YOSHIKI's sold-out two-day debut performance at the venue.
This version begins with a newly written English section by YOSHIKI, after which Groban sings both the original Japanese and English lyrics. It marks an extremely rare performance in which Groban, possessor of one of the world's finest voices, sings "Forever Love" in Japanese.
Groban's deep and powerful vocals blend with YOSHIKI's delicate yet grand piano and orchestra, giving birth to a "Forever Love" with a new scale and depth while preserving the emotion woven into the original song.
